Made from 12oz 100% woven cotton canvas, this is the heaviest traditional gi in our range. The thicker fabric gives the uniform a crisp, structured appearance and makes it particularly well suited to regular training, gradings and kata practice.
The European cut provides full-length sleeves and trousers, while reinforced construction helps the gi stand up to intensive use. Traditional tie-waist trousers give a secure, classic fit.
This is an excellent choice for experienced students or anyone wanting a more substantial karate gi than our standard, 8.5oz or 10oz suits.

What is this suit best for?
I’d describe it as particularly suitable for kata, regular senior training, courses and gradings. The heavier fabric gives a more traditional appearance and tends to produce a stronger, crisper movement than a very light kumite suit.
It can certainly be worn for normal dojo training, but I wouldn't recommend it as your first choice for competition kumite because 12oz cotton is considerably heavier than your specialist 3oz kumite gi.
